On-site wind power for UK telcom UK telecommunications giant BT has unveiled plans to develop on-site wind farms aimed at generating up to 25% of its existing electricity requirements by 2016. If it goes ahead, the wind farm scheme will be the UK’s largest corporate wind power project outside of the energy supply sector. The project, estimated to cost up to €360 million, will bring together third party funding and renewable energy partners to safeguard future supplies of clean, green energy for BT as part of the company’s strategy to reduce carbon emissions.
